Subsforce

Subsforce is a new feature that sits within the Wide Area content management application. We have added a new type of e-commerce article that recognises the blocks of information that make up a subscription order.

A Subsforce article knows that each subscription contract has a core set of information, without which the contract cannot be created. For a paid subscription offer the core blocks typically include the following:

  • An offer or campaign reference
  • A defined contract term
  • A request proposition (free sample, credit card sale, direct debit contract, or controlled questionnaire)
  • A delivery region (geographic zone)
  • A delivery address
  • Contact details of the purchaser
  • As set of data protection preference options
  • And an order confirmation

The Subsforce article blocks are presented to you as 'available elements' for you to build into a subscription form. What’s unique about this system is that it does not mind which order that each block appears on the page, or how many pages they are presented over. When an element is dragged into the right hand 'campaign structure' column it becomes a part of the form that is being built. The 'add new page' button lets you add page breaks between blocks to determine the customer journey that your form creates.

Once completed, your form can be linked to a landing page, email creative  or given a friendly URL to take customers directly to the offer. How each campaign is created is totally under your control.

New stationery can be created by your web designer in HTML, or we can do it for you. Each new set can be created without any contact with the core code so no programming skills are required. You simply create the form you want and pass it to us to be added to the stationery library held on our secure servers.
If you have a large portfolio of titles, you can create a generic stationery set with 'gaps' for logos and images. These 'gaps' are then set up as optional blocks in Subsforce for you to drag into the campaign structure as appropriate.

The content for these blocks is not need to be held in a secure environment, so you can control these elements via the CMS without having to pass changes to us.

Before a new offer can go live, the CMS checks that the mandatory blocks are present. If all is OK, you can approve the article can be made live. This process is completely under your control, there is no administrative process to slow you down.

Testing

Subsforce articles can be grouped together to create a campaign. This feature lets you run accurate tests by presenting multiple versions of the relevant page for the CMS to select and present at random to each site visitor. Your tests can relate to creative landing pages or to the form layout, the test variables are also under your control so you are not limited to a simple A/B comparison.

Once orders have been received, the CMS will create a data file in a format that can be received by your fulfilment provider.

Fulfilment integration

The Wide Area CMS includes a range of fulfilment channels. We have experience at working with CDS, Dovetail, QSS, TW4 plus a number of in-house systems.

The level of fulfilment integration is reviewed as a part of the project set-up process. Options will depend on the system used and features required but can run at the start of the process to receive offer codes and at the end of the process to send orders for processing.

The Wide Area content management system (CMS)

Because Subsforce sits within a content management system (CMS), you can use the same management interface to create and control landing pages. Once we have created a template for you, all you have to do is create a new article, write the words and upload images. You can style text as you would in Microsoft Word and upload images as jpegs or gifs. You do not need any HTML skills to create new offers. The example below shows our logo being dragged into position within the article body.

Our CMS includes all of the features that publishers need to manage and deliver content to the web. These include:

  • The ability to set a start and end publication date
  • Access control to manage user privileges (to create content, approve and make live)
  • A CRM interface that lets you track the details and status of each order
  • Newsletter registration
  • Bulkmail sender
  • Automatic keyword creation for SEO purposes
  • Analytics tracking

Subsforce is available from Wide Area as a stand-alone module that can be integrated with existing websites and bulk email delivery systems, however it can also be delivered as a part of a bigger solution. The potential is to create a subscriber website that gives complete control of the subscriber relationship to subs marketers.

The diagram below gives a snapshot of Wide Area CMS features and how they can be used to collect prospect data, cross-sell, up-sell and communicate effectively with your customers.
